  • @karenrebello ,

@unknownghost posted a screen shot of his status online. Click the link to see the status.

  • @texaslady artigo 6.6 significa aqueles casos onde o governo "pode conceder... Etc", seria interessante acompanhar o desfecho deste caso.

  • @LeoSantos ,

Eu nunca vi um caso destes aqui no fórum. Pelo que eu saiba é bem difícil de ser concedido.

  • @LeoSantos @texaslady @karenrebello so far i have been told to wait and hope for the best, when i used to check the old platform it used to say this on the top article 6 no 6 naturalization, I was on the 6th dot which was dispatch (brown ball) old system, but the new system I'm really confused and i have not seen any case like mine on this forum, i did email them and they have asked me to always check with the lawyer instead to reaching out to them directly for the status of my case this on in Nov, after that i have not sent them any email afraid it could backfire my case. thank you in advance

  • @unknownghost so, I was talking to @texaslady and we are kinda curious to see the outcome of your case, we never seen anyone get the citizenship thru article 6.6, because instead of being decided by the IRN, it has to be decided by the Portuguese ministry.

I hope you get a decision soon, and please come back here and tell us how it went, it can help many other people that are looking to apply using this article.

  • @LeoSantos sure will update you all about my case, i just hope everything works out for me and i get the decision soon,

  • ashleycolaco - can you let me know how you accessed that table of processing times? Is there a publicly available website that shows this information?

  • @Greg1 if you send an email to the IRN asking about your case, you get an automatic answer with the table.

There's a thread here where we post the latest update to the table, so you don't have to keep emailing Portugal.

  • Hello, we submitted for my husband in May 2023 at the consulate in NY. They asked a question in June 2023 and we have heard nothing since. Including no number to check status. When we asked about that, they just said to wait. He is an adult child of portugese parent. Can any tell me which article even applies to this when I look at the tables? Thank you

  • @Jspoons if your husband is son of a portuguese citizen, his article is 1-C.

However, the tables that are posted here regularly only apply to applications that are being processed directly in Portugal (most sent by mail or delivered there personally). When you submit your application on a consulate, you cant check the application status online (you don't get a code) and also it probably takes longer because the application is handled directly by the consulate.

That's why we always advise aplicants to send their application directly to Portugal, not only it's faster, but you can check the application status online.

I'm sorry your husband's is taking so long, but he needs to keep checking with the consulate. Had he submitted his application to Portugal, he probably would be a citizen by now.

  • @LeoSantos @texaslady

Olá membros, apenas uma atualização sobre o meu caso, eles removeram o ministério e mantiveram apenas 4 etapas no total, alguém sabe quanto tempo isso vai levar

    @karenrebello

  • @unknownghost hey, thanks for sharing this update. I dont know how much longer your application is gonna take.

When you go to the application page to check it's status, is there any new text on the bottom of the page?

If there is, it might say something about the ministry decision on your case.

    anyways, good luck

  • My wife's application process. Art 3.1 ...still waiting.

Does anyone know what Art 3.3 apply too...cause we have common children (both registered at birth and have ID and passport) and we have been married for over 6 years (and marriage registered in Portugal)...should this not be on a Art 3.3 track.

  • editado January 31

    @rogeriofza

Art 3.3 applies only for Common-Law Marriage (“União de Facto” in Portugal, “União Estável” in Brazil). Citizenship by marriage is art 3.1

  • How do i check the timeline for registration of birth. Application submitted in Nov 25. Process number received in April 26

  • @Lloyd

If together with process number you also received a "chave de acesso" (access code), just enter the 12-digit access code on this website:

  • Hey guys,

I have a question regarding Art 1.1.C and it's status is Jan 2024, but still not received an update if the process was completed or not. Submitted my siblings case in Nov, 2023 but no update.

    Thanks,

  • @scadshane

Did you apply at a consulate? If you did, you can't track it online. You might need to call the Linha de Registos: (+351) 211 950 500 for more information. Try to have someone who speaks Portuguese make the call/discuss the status for you.

  • Any update from Arquivo central do porto 6.1 ,are they started November 2023 for conclusion ?

  • @Ujjol2511

    No.

They have started working on some of the 6.1 applications submitted in first half of Oct 2023. See status table as of end July 2026. A new official update will only come out sometime in Sept 2026:

  • is it factual that in Porto they are handling May 2022 cases since last October (almost 11 months ago)?

    according to this: prazos-da-nacionalidade-portuguesa

according to this these are the number of cases that were submitted each month (all different articles combined):

  • @Nimben yea, that's pretty accurate. It sucks that they are taking so long to process those cases, the backlog is getting huge

  • hey, does anyone know if they are handling cases by 'Entrega do envelope'/'Submetido' or any other order? my specific case is in Porto if it matters.

  • @Nimben it's the order by when the application is received
